Duals for SU(N) SUSY gauge theories with an antisymmetric tensor: five easy flavors

I consider N=1 supersymmetric SU(N_c) gauge theories with matter fields consisting of one antisymmetric representation, five flavors, and enough anti-fundamental representations to cancel the gauge anomaly. Previous analyses are extended to the case of even N_c with no superpotential. Using holomorphy I show that the theory has an interacting infrared fixed point for sufficiently large N_c. These theories are interesting due to the fact that in going from five to four flavors the theory goes from a non-trivial infrared fixed point to confinement, in contradistinction to SUSY QCD, but in analogy to the behavior expected in non-SUSY QCD

    Testing Extended Technicolor With RbR_b

We review the connection between mtm_t and the ZbbˉZb\bar b vertex in ETC models and demonstrate the power of the resulting experimental constraint on models with weak-singlet ETC bosons. Some efforts to bring ETC models into agreement with experimental data on the ZbbˉZb\bar b vertex are mentioned, and the most promising one (non-commuting ETC) is discussed in detail.Comment: Talk given by E.H. Anomalies, Unparticles, and Seiberg Duality

We calculate triangle anomalies for fermions with non-canonical scaling dimensions. The most well known example of such fermions (aka unfermions) occurs in Seiberg duality where the matching of anomalies (including mesinos with scaling dimensions between 3/2 and 5/2) is a crucial test of duality. By weakly gauging the non-local action for an unfermion, we calculate the one-loop three-current amplitude. Despite the fact that there are more graphs with more complicated propagators and vertices, we find that the calculation can be completed in a way that nearly parallels the usual case. We show that the anomaly factor for fermionic unparticles is independent of the scaling dimension and identical to that for ordinary fermions. This can be viewed as a confirmation that unparticle actions correctly capture the physics of conformal fixed point theories like Banks-Zaks or SUSY QCD.Comment: 13 pages, 1 figur

Meta-Stable Brane Configuration and Gauged Flavor Symmetry

Starting from an N=1 supersymmetric electric gauge theory with the gauge group Sp(N_c) x SO(2N_c') with fundamentals for the first gauge group factor and a bifundamental, we apply Seiberg dual to the symplectic gauge group only and arrive at the N=1 supersymmetric dual magnetic gauge theory with dual matters including the gauge singlets and superpotential. By analyzing the F-term equations of the dual magnetic superpotential, we describe the intersecting brane configuration of type IIA string theory corresponding to the meta-stable nonsupersymmetric vacua of this gauge theory.Comment: 16 pp, 3 figures; stability analysis in page 7 and 8 added and the presentation improved; reduced bytes of figures and to appear in MPL
